The Functions of the College Board

 

 

 

First: College Board shall perform the following tasks:

 

 

 

-1 Approval of the requirements for admission.

 

 

 

2- Specify theproposed number of students for admission at the beginning of each school year.

 

 

 

3- Approve the curriculum and submit them to the ministry.

 

 

 

4- Approve the plan of educational necessities.

 

 

 

5- Determine the amount of studying fees.

 

 

 

6-Management of the university treasury,invest anddisposeit in accordance with the goals of the university.

 

 

 

7- Appoint assistant rector, deans and heads of departments or branches and release them.

 

 

 

8- Recommendation to extend the duration of the university president or nominationof alternate or release him.

 

 

 

9- Granting graduate academic degrees.

 

 

 

10- Approval of scientific promotions of faculty members.

 

 

 

11- Recommendation to open new colleges.

 

 

 

12- Recommendation to open scientific departments or branches or merging or abolished them.

 

 

 

13- Ratification of the budget and final accounts and conduct transaction between its chapters.

 

 

 

14- Ratification of the college staff and scientific departments.

 

 

 

15- Hire of faculty members, Arabs or foreigners in accordance with the regulations adopted by public universities (except for wage determination).

 

 

 

16- Appointment of faculty members and other staff and determining their wages and bonuses and the acceptance of their resignations and termination of their services.

 

 

 

17- Contract agreements with universities, colleges and scientific institutions dealing with scientific research inside and outside Iraq.

 

 

 

18- Stop the study in whole or in part, where appropriate period not exceeding a week on condition of informing the ministry of higher education immediately with a statement of reasons and justifications.

 

 

 

19-Dedicate transferred funds to universities and colleges, and scientific educational institutions.

 

 

 

20- Accept grants and gifts, subsidies and bequests and endowment from inside and outside Iraq, the latter case should rely, from beginning, on Cabinet approval. 

 

 

 

Second: The College Board may authorized some of his powers to the dean of the college.
